Last month, 1st Containers embarked on another major exhibition, heading to the beautiful Peak District market town of Buxton for Hillhead 2026, the UK’s largest outdoor quarrying and construction show. Alongside our parent company, 1st Containers, the team endured record-breaking UK temperatures to connect with both current clients and future customers.
Held inside a working quarry, Hillhead brings its own unique set of logistical hurdles when it comes to parking and access; this is certainly not the NEC! However, the rewards far outweigh the challenges. The first thing that strikes you upon arrival is the sheer scale of the event, with hundreds of expansive stands stretching out as far as the eye can see.

The second thing everyone noticed was the intense heat. With Britain baking under record temperatures, our daily routine quickly revolved around essential ice and water runs to keep the team hydrated and cool. Fortunately, we had our very own cabins and containers on-site, providing a much-needed shield from the worst of the blazing sun.

Exhibitions like this present a fantastic, rare opportunity for our team to bond outside the office. More importantly, they give us the dedicated time to catch up face-to-face with existing clients while introducing our product range to a wealth of new, interested buyers.
We had a brilliant time, met some incredible people, and will undoubtedly be back for the next one!
